England midfielder Frank Lampard, who has been holding out on signing a new contract with Chelsea, pledged his future to the club on Thursday.
"I just want to do one thing and that is stay at this club for the rest of my career," Lampard told the London Evening Standard newspaper.
He said he and the club had agreed last year not to resume talks until the end of the season but that if signing a new deal "could be done tomorrow I'd be happy with that".
Lampard said he had postponed it because he kept being asked about his contract and when he spoke about it he was invariably misinterpreted.
