Tottenham Hotspur [ Images ] defender Jonathan Woodgate scored the winning goal in extra-time to give the north London [ Images ] side a 2-1 win over west London rivals Chelsea [ Images ] in the League Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Woodgate scored in the fourth minute of extra-time after Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech's [ Images ] punched a clearance rebounded off the Spurs defender's head.

Chelsea, the League Cup holders, had opened the scoring in the 39th minute through a Didier Drogba [ Images ] free-kick just outside the Tottenham area after the striker had been felled by Ivory Coast team mate Didier Zakora.

Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov [ Images ] equalised in the 70th minute from the penalty spot after Chelsea full back Wayne Bridge handled in the area.
