The Indian rowing pair of Devender Kumar Khandwal and Manjeet Singh finished a disappointing fifth qualification in the Lightweight men's Double Sculls Repechage 2 at the Olympics on Tuesday.
They clocked 7:02.06 seconds, 23 seconds behind the winners, Pedro Fraga and Nuno Mendes, of Portugal, who crossed the finishing line in 6:39.07 seconds.
Devender and Manjeet will now compete for 13-24 places.
The Cuban duo of Eyder Batista and Yunior Perez placed second with a timing of 6:40.15 second.
