India's Somdev Devvarman qualified for the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington DC with a straight sets victory over Japan's Go Soeda on Sunday.
The 23-year-old beat second seed Soeda 7-5, 7-5 in the final qualifying round to set up a first round clash with American wildcard Taylor Dent.
The victory enabled Somdev avenge a 4-6, 6-7 (6) defeat he suffered against the Japanese at the Vancouver Open last week.
Somdev has played in the Washington ATP the past two years but has not gone past the first round.
Having begun his professional career on a high, Somdev has a good chance against Dent, who was ranked as high as 21 in 2005 but missed the action due to a back surgery for almost two years.
Dent has played only two tournaments this summer, losing in the first round both times.
