Arsenal [ Images ] striker Emmanuel Adebayor ended the protracted speculation about his future on Friday by confirming he will sign a new contract with the Premier League club.
Adebayor, 24, has been the subject of interest from Barcelona [ Images ] and AC Milan [ Images ] throughout the close season but he has now told the Arsenal website that he is keen to commit his long-term future to the north London [ Images ] club.
"Now I can tell everyone that, yes, I will sign a contract. I'm feeling very good here, very well here, and at the moment my heart is with Arsenal," he said.
"I never told anyone I would be leaving this club, never ever. I'm very happy we've found a solution. I have three years left on my contract so I'm very happy being part of this family."
The Togo striker joined Arsenal from Monaco in 2006 and enjoyed a productive campaign in the 2007/08 season, scoring 30 goals in all competitions.
His pledge will delight Arsenal supporters after the departures of midfielders Mathieu Flamini and Aleksandr Hleb [ Images ].
