The Indo-Czech pair of Leander Paes and Martin Damm squandered a first set lead to bow out of Euro 2,082,500 BNP Paribas Masters tournament.

Paes-Damm went down fighting against Jeff Coetzee of South Africa and Rogier Wassen of Netherlands 6-3, 6-7(5), 9-11 in the first round match in Paris on Monday.

The Indo-Czech duo had also made a premature exit in the Madrid Masters when they conceded a second round tie against Australian pair of Jordan Kerr and Todd Perry.

The number five team in the Stanford ATP Doubles Race next play in the season ending prestigious Tennis Masters Cup in Shanghai.

It will be their second consecutive Tennis Masters Cup. Last year, they had lost their semi-final match to eventual winners Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi.
