Among other Indians in the singles' list, the US-based Shikha Uberoi is the next highest placed at 240th spot, an improvement of two rungs. Veteran Rushmi Chakravarthi remained steady at 394th with 46.25 points, while Ankita Bhambri was up four spots to 441st this week.

Meanwhile, Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne reclaimed the top spot in the rankings, overtaking Russia's Maria Sharapova.

Sharapova's compatriot Svetlana Kuznetsova completes the top three.

In the ATP rankings, estranged partners Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi held on to their 12th and 21st position respectively.

Paes, however, is expected a big jump as he along with partner Czech Republic Martin Damm claimed their second ATP title this season winning the doubles crown at the Pacific Life Open on Sunday night. Damm is currently placed 10th.
