Leander Paes and Martin Damm of the Czech Republic shocked top-ranked Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi to enter the final of the Pacific Life Open tennis tournament at Indian Wells, California.
The fifth seeded Indo-Czech duo beat the top seeded Swede-Belarussian pair 6-2, 6-7(5), 12-10 in the semi-finals of the US $3,169,600 event on Friday.
Paes and Damm will clash with the sixth seeded Israeli pair of Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram for the title.
Erlich and Ram defeated the seventh seeded Austrian pair of Julian Knowle and Jurgen Melzer 6-2, 7-5 in the other semi-final.
This is the third final for Paes and Damm this year. They clinched the title in the World Indoor tournament in Rotterdam and finished runners-up at the Qatar Open in Doha.
