India's Leander Paes and partner Martin Damm of the Czech Republic stormed into the second round of the doubles event at Wimbledon, scoring a straight-set victory over South Africa's Chris Haggard and Marcin Matkowski of Poland on Thursday.
The fifth seeds won the first round match on Court 16, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, 7-5.

Paes and Damm were made to toil in the first set as they were stretched to a tie-breaker, which they won 7-4, but had things under control in the second.
One crucial break in the final set helped them seal the match.
The Indo-Czech combine had been in good form coming into the tournament, having made it to the final of the Ordina Open, where they were beaten by Jeff Coetzee of South Africa and Rogier Wassen of the Netherlands.
