Indian ace Leander Paes and his Czech partner Martin Damm registered a facile win to sail into the second round of the Gerry Webber Open tennis tournament in Halle, Germany.
The Indo-Czech duo scored a 6-4, 6-2 win over the Swiss-German pair of Yves Allegro and Michael Kohlmann in their opening round match of the 680,250 euro event on Tuesday.
Paes and Damm will next face the winner of the match between German wildcards Benjamin Becker and Christopher Kas and the Swedish-German pair of Robin Soderling and Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Paes and Damm were ousted in the second round of the French Open Grand Slam in Paris. The third seeded Indo-Czech pair were upset by unseeded Germans.
