Delhi-lad Yuki Bhambri set up a second-round clash with top seed Aqeel Khan of Pakistan after an easy first-round victory at the US $10,000 ITF men's tennis tournament in Delhi on Tuesday.
Bhambri hardly broke a sweat before beating his Korean opponent Eui-Yeoi Yang 6-2, 6-1 at the DLTA complex.
Also advancing to the second round was third seed Vijay Kannan, who beat Tushar Liberhan. Liberhan retired when he was trailing 0-3 in the second set after losing the first 6-7(2).
Two seeded Indians also made an early exit. Seventh seed Vivek Shokeen lost 3-6, 4-6 to Min Hyoek Cho of Korea, while sixth seed Navdeep Singh retired when trailing 1-5 in the first set against Tzu-Yang Lin of Chinese Taipei.
Another player who retired midway was Kiran Nandkumar.
Nandkumar, who was playing fifth seed Aditya Madkekar, lost the first set 0-6 but came back well to take the second 6-3 before withdrawing.
