Saurav Ghosal and Siddharth Suchde will fight it out for the men's title in the senior National Squash Championships in Chennai on Saturday.
In Friday's semi-finals, they respectively beat Harinder Pal Singh and Gaurav Nandrajog in straight sets.
Harinder Pal Singh could not match Ghosal's speed and was continuously tested by the latter's drop shots. Ghosal won 9-3, 9-3, 9-4 in 47 minutes.
Saurav was all praise for Harinder, saying, "He was forced to play a lot of shots and made me work harder, pushing me towards achieving my best."
Commenting on the match, Harinder said, "Saurav threw tighter shots today, which made it difficult for me to combat against him."
Siddharth Suchde had it easy against Gaurav Nandrajog, winning 9-2, 9-1, 9-0 in 40 minutes.
The women's final will see Joshna Chinappa clash with Dipika Palikkal.
Joshna took 22 minutes to dispose off Surbhi Mishra, wining the first semi-final 9-5, 9-1, 9-4.
The second semi-final between Dipika Pallikal and Anwesha Reddy was far more exciting. Though Dipika won the battle in 30 minutes, Anwesha's shots in the third set gave one the feeling that an upset was on the cards. But Dipika soon regained lost ground with some lovely strokes as Anwesha committed errors at crucial moments.
The finals start at 1400 hours.
