Prakash Amritraj and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi were knocked out of men's doubles following a straight-sets loss to top seeds Wesley Moodie and Fabrice Santoro at the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in Newport, Rhode Islands, in USA.
The Indo-Pak duo, playing as wildcards, were hardly a match for South African Moodie and Frenchman Santoro, who overwhelmed them 6-0, 6-4 to advance to the quarter-finals of the USD 416,000 grass court event on Wednesday.
However, the two are still in contention in the singles competition.
Qureshi, who recorded his first win in a Grand Slam at Wimbledon a fortnight ago, reached his maiden ATP Tour quarter-final after beating lucky loser Nathan Healy of Australia 7-6 (2), 5-7, 6-4 in the second round yesterday.
The Pakistani sensation upstaged top seed and local favourite Mardy Fish while Amritraj beat Serbia's Ilia Bozoljac in the first round earlier.
