"We wanted to play together and we are going to play together," multiple grand slam winner Bhupathi told Reuters.
"We will see how the results go and take it from there."
Bhupathi, 33, had teamed up with Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova at last month's Australian Open and lost in the first round to the Serbian pair of Nenad Zimonjic and Jelena Jankovic.
The 20-year-old Mirza is currently ranked 48 in the world in singles and 23 in doubles.
She lost to Japan's Aiko Nakamura in the second round of the Melbourne Park grand slam, and partnering Spain's Anabel Medina Garrigues in doubles progressed to the third round where the pair lost to Hantuchova and Japan's Ai Sugiyama.
Mirza won mixed doubles gold with Leander Paes at the Asian Games in Doha in December where Bhupathi was paired with second-ranked woman player Shikha Uberoi.
