Cosmos Club, Tiruvallore, scored a shock win over Sporting Club de Goa 2-0 to enter the final of the Manchester Uniter Premier Cup (MUPC) South Zone qualifiers in Chennai on Saturday.
Gunasekharan scored the first goal for the winners in the fifth minute while Mugil Raj increased the lead in the 24th minute.
In the West Zone semi-finals, Salgaocar Sports Club, Goa, defeated Mahindra United via the tie-breaker.
The match came to a nail-biting finish with both teams tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time.
Darshit Thakker scored for Mahindra in the fifth minute while Enfal Vaz restored parity for the Goans in the 33rd.
In the tie-breaker, however, Salgaocar proved superior, scoring five times against Mahindra's four.
Enfal Vaz, Allwyn Fernandes, Godfrey Silva, Jestin D'Souza and Valfrax Furtado scored for Salgaocar in the tie-breaker while Kalpesh Nijat, Jason Dias, Krishna Banerjee and Jimit Mehta were on target for Mahindra.
