Sania Mirza continues to climb in the world rankings. She improved her career-best position in singles by a place and is placed 27th on the latest WTA Tour charts.
The 20-year-old Indian's doubles triumph at New Haven on Sunday also saw her break into the top-20 in the doubles ranking.
Sania, who partnered Italian Mara Santangelo to crush top seeds Cara Black and Liezel Huber in the final, gained four positions and is placed at 20th.
Sunitha Rao continues to be the next best Indian, but she dropped one place to 220.
Shikha Uberoi moved one place up to 334.
Also moving up was Mahesh Bhupathi, who improved two notches to 18th in the men's doubles rankings, thanks to his victory with Serbia's Nenad Zimonjic at New Haven.
However, the picture does not look rosy for the rest of the Indian men.
After the weeks of continued rise, Rohan Bopanna slid to 261, a steep dive of 38 places.
Prakash Amritraj also lost two positions to be placed 272 and Karan Rastogi four places to be 344.
