Leander Paes and Martin Damm entered the semi-finals of the men's doubles at the US Open on Thursday when they got the better of Leos Friedl of the Czech Republic and Mikhail Youzhny of Russia.
The sixth seeded Indo-Czech pair won 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 to set up a meeting with fourth seeds Paul Hanley of Australia and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe, who defeated fifth seeds Fabrice Santoro of France and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in another quarter-final.
The other semi-final will be between Australia's Ashley Fisher-Tripp Phillips of the United States and second seeds Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden-Max Mirnyi of Belarus.
Fisher-Phillips (Australia/United States) beat Paul Goldstein-Thomas of the United States 7-5, 6-4, while Bjorkman-Mirnyi accounted forĀ Arnaud Clement-Michael Llodra of France 7-6(8), 6-7(6), 6-2 to make the grade.
