Seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher will announce his retirement on Sunday at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, Bild newspaper reported on Wednesday.
"We can't comment on everything. As we said, there will be more on Sunday," Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's spokeswoman, said.
The mass-circulation newspaper though did not mention any source for its report.
Schumacher's manager, Willi Weber, was quoted as telling Bild, "We won't have anything to say before Sunday."
The German driver, who holds every major record in Formula One racing, had said he would announce a decision on his future at the Monza race.
In the last few weeks there was much speculation in the German media that German ace would retire after his contract with Ferrari expires at the end of the season, which still has four Grand Prix, including the Italian race to go.
Schumacher is 12 points behind defending Formula One champion Fernando Alonso ahead of the last four races.
