In what could be regarded as one of the most one-sided matches in the history of the game, Railways massacred a hapless Andaman and Nicobar islands 33-0 in the national hockey championships in Amritsar on Saturday.
The players from the union territory seemed mere spectators as the railwaymen rode roughshod over the minnows, who paid dearly for their inexperience and lack of match practice.
Prabhakar was the topscorer helping himself to eight goals while Hardip Singh found the target half a dozen times.
Railways captain Raju joined in the fun slotting home four, as did Amit Kumar.
Shasm Alam struck three with Rupinder, Amarjit Singh, Harish Kumar and Chander getting two each.
The railwaymen showed no mercy to their disjointed opposition and vied with each other to find the goal. They led 17-0 at half-time and added another 16 in the second half.
