Saina Nehwal and Srujan Nandluri entered the girls and boys' singles pre-quarter-finals respectively in the World Junior Badminton Championships at Incheon, South Korea, on Tuesday.

World No 32 Saina produced a clinical performance to secure a 21-8, 21-7 win over Stephanie Shalini Sukumaran of Malaysia in just 19 minutes.

She will now take on Korea's Jang Soo Young for a place in the last eight.

However, compatriot Arundhati Pantawane bowed out after going down 14-21, 21-18, 19-21 to Buranaprasertsuk of Thailand.

In the boys' singles, Jishnu Sanyal, Akshay Diwalkar and Ratikanta Saha were all shown the door and the only Indian left in the fray is Nandaluri, who bounced back from a game deficit to prevail over Tang Fai of Macau 14-21, 21-18, 22-20 and claim a fourth round berth.

Nandaluri has a tough challenge in his next match as he faces top seed Kenichi Tago of Japan.

Diwalkar lost to Ji Hoon Hong of Korea 9-21, 10-21, while Sanyal failed to get past Tommy Sugiarto of Indonesia, who won 21-19, 21-13.

Saha was outclassed by Fang Yang Lim of Malaysia 11-21, 13-21.

Sanyal and Diwalkar reached the doubles third round, defeating the Russian duo of Gordej Kosenko and Evgeny Klimkovian 21-19, 20-22, 21-19.

They now take on Marcus Ellis and Liew Victor of England next.

Gurusai Dutt and Tarun were however eliminated when they lost 20-22, 11-21, 12-21 to Fernando Kurniwan and CJ Subakti of Indonesia.

In the girls' doubles, Ashwini Ponappa and Nitya Sasale lost to Hyun Young and Kyun Eun of Korea 15-21, 9-21.

The mixed doubles pair of Tarun and Sasale bowed out after going down to the English pair of Chris Adcock and Gabriela White 12-21, 10-21 in the second round.
