India's Prakash Amritraj on Thursday made it into the second round of the USD 25,000 Shimadzu All Japan Indoor Tennis Championships by defeating compatriot Rohan Bopanna 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5).
Amritraj will meet third seed Kristian Pless of Austria in the quarter-finals.
Later, Amritraj and Bopanna won their doubles quarter-final against the local pair of Tasuku Iwami and Go Saeda 7-5, 3-6, 10-7.
In the last four, the Indian duo would take on top seeds Nathan Healey and Robert Smeets of Australia.
