Prakash Amritraj and Shikha Uberoi saw their fine run come to an end as they bowed out of the main draw in the opening round of their respective tour events at various venues.
Amritraj, who had come through three qualifying rounds, went down in a thriller to Mardy Fish 6-4, 7-6 (4) at the US $355,000 ATP Tour event in Las Vegas, USA, on Wednesday.
At the US $600,000 WTA Tour Qatar Total Open in Doha, Shikha, after an impressive performance in the qualifiers, was shown the door 6-0, 6-1 by Maria Vento-Kabchi of Venezuela, who was Sania Mirza's doubles partner in the Dubai event last week.
