Mahesh Bhupathi suffered one of his worst defeats in Grand Slam career as he and partner Alexander Waske of Germany crashed out of the Wimbledon men's doubles in the first round in London on Thursday.
Bhupathi and Waske, seeded 13th, went down 6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-7 (7) to Frederic Niemeyer of Canada and Glenn Weiner of the US.
Leander Paes and his partner Martin Damm of the Czech Republic will take on Serbia & Montenegro's Janko Tipsarev and Russian Mikhail Youzhny in their first round match to be played today.
