Paes-Damm crash out of French Open

Leander Paes [ Images ] and Czech Republic's Martin Damm [ Images ] crashed out of the French Open [ Images ] men's doubles with a straight-set loss in the first round on Thursday.

Paes and Damm were subdued by Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic and Mikhail Youzhny of Russia [ Images ] 6-1, 7-6 (4).

Meanwhile, Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] has teamed up with Martina Hingis [ Images ] as he chases another mixed doubles crown. Bhupathi won the Australian Open [ Images ] earlier this year with Hingis. They take on Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden and Australia's [ Images ] Stephen Huss in the opening round.

Leander Paes is paired with Maria Kirilenko and the duo face American third seeds Meghann Shaughnessy and Mike Bryan.

Sania Mirza [ Images ] will play alongside Paul Hanley [ Images ] of Australia and the pair is up against legendary Martina Navratilova and Bob Bryan of the US, the sixth seeds.
