The unseeded Indo-Belgian pair defeated the Argentine duo of Jose Acasuso and Sebastian Prieto 6-4, 6-3 in the second round.
They next play either Switzerland's [ Images ] Yves Allegro and Stanislas Wawrinka or fifth seeds Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram [ Images ] of Israel.
Later in the day, Bhupathi combined with 'Swiss Miss' Martina Hingis [ Images ] to defeat Sofia Arvidsson of Sweden and Aussie Stephen Huss 7-5, 6-2 in the first round of the mixed doubles.
On Thursday, India's Leander Paes [ Images ] and the Czech Republic's Martin Damm [ Images ] crashed out of the men's doubles, losing to Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic and Mikhail Youzhny of Russia [ Images ] 1-6, 6-7(4).
