Top Indians Ritwik Bhattacharya and Saurav Ghosal crashed out of the Malaysian Open squash tournament after suffering first round lossesĀ in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday.
Bhattacharya, the world No 43, who got a direct entry into the tournament, lost to third-seeded Adrian Grant of England 11-5 11-8 11-6 in 39 minutes while qualifier Ghosal went down to top seed Azlan Iskandar of the host country 11-8 11-9 11-9 in 35 minutes.
Earlier, world No 61 Ghosal qualified for the main draw after beating Khawaja Adil Maqbool of Pakistan 11-3 11-7 11-3 in 21 minutes and then getting the better of Jason Mudge of Australia 6-11 11-10 (2-0) 11-4 11-7 in a 47-minute second round battle.
