Leander Paes [ Images ] and Martin Damm [ Images ] stormed into the quarter-finals of the men's doubles at Wimbledon [ Images ] on Monday.
The seventh seeded Indo-Czech pair had things their way while beating Cyril Suk and Robin Vik of the Czech Republic 6-2, 6-1, 7-6(7-1) in a third round match.
They meet the winners of the match between Irakli Labadze/Dusan Vemic and fourth seeds Paul Henley/Kevin Ullett.
Paes, the Indian Davis Cup spearhead, also advanced in the mixed doubles. He and Australia's [ Images ] Samantha Stosur [ Images ] beat Paul Hanley [ Images ] and Tatiana Perebiynis in a close second round match.
The fourth seeds prevailed over the Aussie-Ukrainian duo 4-6, 6-3, 12-10.
However, the Indian challenge in the tournament was reduced as Sania Mirza [ Images ] crashed out of the women's doubles.
Sania and Michaella Krajicek of the Netherlands lost to Russia's [ Images ] Elena Dementieva [ Images ] and Flavia Penetta of Italy [ Images ] in the second round.
Dementieva and Penetta, seeded eight, won 6-4, 6-2.
Also on the losing side was 11th seeds Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] and his Chinese partner Zi Yan, who went down to the ace American pairing of Bob Bryan and Venus Williams [ Images ] 6-4, 6-1 in the second round of the mixed doubles.
In the boys' singles, 14th seed Jeevan Neduncheziya lost to local lad Ed Corrie 6-0, 6-7(4/7), 6-1 while Slovakia's Andrei Martin defeated Rupesh Roy 6-2, 7-5.
In the Over-45 men's doubles, Vijay and Anand Amritraj lost to Iran's Mansour Bahrami and American Gene Mayer 6-2, 7-6(7/5).
