Former Delhi [ Images ] hockey player Chaman Lal Malhotra died in Delhi recently because of some liver problems.

Malhotra, who had played for Delhi in the 1960s, breathed his last on Wednesday, a press statement of the Jawaharlal Nehru [ Images ] Hockey Tournament Society said here on Friday.

Malhotra also captained Railway Board team for some years. He was a member of the Central Secretariat team, which toured Afghanistan in 1967 and later in 1969.

He was an active member of the Nehru Hockey Society.
