Leander Paes and his Czech partner Martin Damm started their Australian Open campaign in fine style recording a straight sets victory over the Australian pair of Peter Luczak and Shannon Nettle in the first round of the men's doubles in Melbourne on Wednesday.
The seventh seeds registered a convincing 6-3, 6-2 victory in just 59 minutes to advance into the second round.
In another first round match, sixth seeds Jonathan Erlich and Andy Ram of Israel progressed with a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 victory over Spain's Albert Montanes and Argentine Juan Monaco.
