JCT Phagwara and Goa's Fransa Pax played out a goalless draw on day 2 of the 10th ONGC-National Football League, at the Nehru stadium, in Margao, Goa, on Wednesday.
Both the teams failed to enthrall the crowd.
JCT, who held midfield superiority and more ball possession, created two scoring chances in the first-half. But first, Praveen Kumar's pile driver early in the match missed the target narrowly. Later, Fransa Pax 'keeper Virender Singh blocked Kumar's shot, which deflected and fell on the path of JCT's Johnson, who in haste volleyed the ball over the bar.
JCT continued to probe in the second half but failed to find the elusive goal. Another good chance came their way, but Marcos Pereira's header went straight into the hands of 'keeper Virender.
Fransa's defender Creson Antao, who played his heart out, was named the man of the match.
