Chilean Nicolas Massu comfortably beat Alberto Martin of Spain 6-3, 6-4 to win the Brazil Open at the Costa do Sauipe resort on Saturday.
Olympic singles and doubles champion Massu, seeded sixth, handed seventh seed Martin his second successive defeat in the final after he lost to fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal last year.
Martin reached the final after saving three match points in a three-set victory over Olivier Patience of France, who had upset top seed Argentine Gaston Gaudio in the second round.
