Maradona declined to comment on whether he was involved in the crash early Friday when asked by reporters.
A man described by Cronica TV as a witness to the accident said the vehicle ran a red light and spun out of control before ramming into a telephone booth.
"I saw Maradona and two other people leave walking," said the man, who was not identified.
Maradona, who captained Argentina to the 1986 World Cup title, now works as a director of Argentine champions Boca Juniors and recently hosted a successful weekly television show.
