Shikha Uberoi faltered at the final hurdle with a straight-set loss in the women's singles qualifiers of the US Open [ Images ] in New York on Saturday.

The US-based Indian went down 6-3, 6-1 to Agnieszka Radwanska [ Images ] of Poland in the third round of the qualifiers.

Shikha had earlier beaten Sara Errani of Italy [ Images ] 7-6 (3), 6-2 in the first round and knocked out another Italian Valentina Sassi 6-1, 7-6 (8) in the second.

Meanwhile, Sania Mirza [ Images ] will take on Karolina Sprem of Croatia [ Images ] in the women's singles main draw on Monday.
