Watford coach Aidy Boothroyd said he was a dreamer, who was convinced his promoted side could beat Manchester United at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

Boothroyd told a news conference on Friday he wanted nothing less than a win against the league leaders. "Otherwise, what's the point of playing?" he asked.

"I'm not a realist because if I was then I wouldn't be sat here and I wouldn't be in this league. I'm a dreamer.

"But progress depends on people like me -- unreasonable men that won't go along with convention.

"I believe you can do anything you want to do and it's only people's self-limiting belief that stops them achieving all that they can achieve," Boothroyd, whose side have one point from their first two games of the season, said.

"I got excited at the beginning of the season but now we're in it looking for points and if we get excited we'll get overawed. We should be focusing on doing a professional job on what's a very good team."
