Grandmaster Pendyala Harikrishna won four consecutive games against Akrdij Naditischin of Germany in the under-20 Chess 960 to become World rapid chess champion in Mainz, Germany, on Wednesday.
Playing with white, Harikrishna took no time to thrash his German Grandmaster in the fifth game and continued his winning spree in the sixth, seventh and eighth games to finish a solid one point ahead of his opponent's 3.5 points.
The Indian Grandmaster had earlier lost the first, second and fourth games and drew the third, but came back splendidly to outplay his opponent and claim the world title.
