Mahesh Bhupathi joined hands with Radek Stepanek to tame his estranged partner Leander Paes and Martin Damm and sail into the quarterfinal of the men's doubles event at the Monte Carlo Masters on Thursday.
Unseeded Bhupathi and his Czech partner Stepanek was in brilliant form during their 6-1, 6-4 win and had little respect for the Indo-Czech pair who were seeded fourth in the tournament.
Bhupathi and Stepanek dropped one game before winning the first set and though Paes and Damm strived for a comeback in the second, it was too late and their rival had by then ran away with the match.
In the quartefinals, Bhupathi and Stepanek will meet the winner of the match between Roger Federer-Yves Allegro and Stephen Huss-Pavel Vizner.
