Jeev Milkha Singh faltered once again in the final round, carding a two-over 74 to finish a disappointing tied 19th in the 200 million Yen ANA Open on the Japan Golf Tour in Tokyo.

Jeev finished with a tally of seven-under 281 at the par-72 Sapporo Golf Club Wattsu Course.

The Indian pro had a bothersome front nine with bogeys on second, seventh and ninth holes, and just one birdie on fifth, which he birdied each day and eagled it in second round.

On the back nine, he birdied the 12th and bogeyed the par-three 16th. He took 29 putts, but it was his iron play that let him down as he found just 55 per cent greens in regulation.

Keiichiro Fukabori beat Yasuharu Imano in the play-off as both were tied at 14-under 274 following identical final rounds of four-under 68. This was Fukabori's eighth win on the Japan Tour and it was aided by a 10-under 62 in the second round.

Fukabori leads the Money List on the Japan Tour and has now won two titles this year. His earlier win came at the Sun Chlorella Classic.

Defending champion and overnight co-leader Chawalit Plaphol dropped to tied third with Steve Conran and Hidemasa Hoshnino.

This year on the Japan Tour, Jeev had three top-10 finishes and four other results inside top-25. Twice before this tournament, Jeev had been in contention for the title before faltering in the final round.
