India shooters dominated the third day of inaugural Asian Air Gun Shooting championships in Bangkok, Thailand, bagging three gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.
The team of Tejaswini Sawant, Suma Shirur and Deepali Deshpande claimed the gold tallying 1178 out of 1200 in the women's Air Rifle event.
Sawant's personal score of 495.7 (395+100.7) won her theĀ silver -- her maiden international medal. The Indian, leading in the qualifying, was pushed back to second position by China's Li C in the final.
The Chinese won the gold with the scores of 496.5 (394+102.5) while the bronze went to Shirur 494.8 (393+101.8).
India won the team gold in the junior men's Air Rifle event through combined efforts Navnath Farthathe, Sandeep Tarte and Ashok Kumar.
The Indians totalled highest with 1757 ahead of China (1745) and Thailand (1723).
Farthathe also won the gold for his individual effort of 590 while Tarte fired 585 for the bronze. China's Li H scored 589 to win the silver.
India has so far won five gold, two silver and two bronze medals in the championships.
