India's national champion Anup Sridhar won his maiden international title when he clinched the 30th Yonex Hungarian International Badminton Open in Budapest on Sunday.

Twenty-two-year-old Sridhar, seeded fifth in the championships, beat seventh seeded Scott Evans of Ireland 15-3, 15-4 in the one-sided final that lasted only 21 minutes.

The win is sure to improve the world ranking of Sridhar, who has been training and playing in Denmark, and representing the Elite Division Skaelskor in the Danish league for the last two months.

The exposure has benefited Sridhar, who gets to play with top Danish players in his club and also at the International Badminton Academy in Copenhagen from time to time.

He now moves to Oslo for the Norwegian Open, which starts on November 4.

India's top two men's singles players in the international circuit -- Chetan Anand and Arvind Bhat -- reached their career best world rankings last week, having secured the 27th and 31st places, respectively.
