Juventus striker David Trezeguet will miss France's final two World Cup qualifiers against Switzerland and Cyprus after pulling a thigh muscle during a 2-0 win over Inter Milan at the weekend, the Serie A club said on its website on Monday.

Trezeguet scored the opening goal but limped off clutching his left thigh an hour into the match.

Following tests by the club's doctors, the striker has been ordered to rest for between seven to 10 days, ruling him out of France's away match against Switzerland on October 8 and their home fixture against Cyprus on October 12.

France and Switzerland are joint top of Group Four with 16 points apiece. The French will qualify for the finals if they win in Berne.

Trezeguet's absence will be a further blow to France coach Raymond Domenech, who is already without his other top striker, Thierry Henry. He is struggling to shake off a groin injury.

Trezeguet has scored 31 goals in 59 internationals since making his France debut in January 1998.
