Juventus [ Images ] striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic [ Images ] was awarded the Swedish Golden Ball award for 2005 on Monday.

The 24-year-old striker, who did not attend the gala in Stockholm, played a key role in Juventus's clinching of the Serie A title last season scoring 16 goals for the club.

He has also been instrumental in Sweden's qualification for next year's World Cup in Germany [ Images ], scoring eight goals in the qualifying matches.

Barcelona [ Images ] striker Henrik Larsson [ Images ] won the Golden Ball of all times award based on people's votes, beating earlier greats such as Gunnar Nordahl, Ralf Edstrom and Tomas Brolin.
