The 'Indian Express' made inroads at Roland Garros but on different tracks. Both, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, entered the second round of the mixed doubles at the French Open with their respective American partners.
Paes and Martina Navratilova defeated French pair Stephanie Foretz and Nicolas Devilder 6-4, 6-3 while Bhuptahi and Lisa Raymond dismissed Jonathan Erlich of Israel and Virginia Ruano Pascual of Spain 6-3, 6-4 in Paris on Saturday.
Paes is also in the third round of the men's doubles. He and partner Nenad Zimonjic had beaten the French pair of Nicolas Devilder and Marc Gicquel 6-1, 6-3 to make the grade.
Bhupathi will square up against his doubles partner Todd Woodbridge of Australia, who teams up with Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia for the second round clash.
Paes and Navratilova will play Simon Aspelin of Sweden and Dinara Safina of Russia next.
