Leander Paes and Nenad Zimonjic entered the second round of the men's doubles at the French Open on Wednesday.
The sixth seeded India-Serbia and Montenegro pair got the better of Germany's Florian Mayer and Rogier Wassen of the Netherlands 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.
After winning the first set easily, Paes and Zimonjic surprisingly lost the second but came back strongly in the decider, where they effected breaks in the first and seventh games to take the set and match.
Earlier, India's teen tennis sensation Sania Mirza also advanced to the second round of the women's doubles. She and Russia's Anna Chakvetadze beat Kristina Brandi of Puerto Rico and Nana Miyagi of Japan 6-2, 6-3.
The Indo-Russian duo now take on 16th seeds Zi Yan and Jie Zheng of China.
