Two second-half goals by R C Prakash and Ranty Martins guided Dempo to their maiden National Football League title.
The Goa side beat Tollygunge Aggragami 2-0 in their last round match at Tilak ground in Vasco, Goa, on Saturday to emerge triumphant.
After a barren first-half, Dempo surged ahead in the 56th minute when Prakash converted off a cross by Clifford Miranda from the right, in the 56th minute.
Martins then assured Dempo the title by scoring in the 78th minute off Miranda's pass.
The win took Dempo's final tally to 47 points.
In another match at the Nehru stadium, in Margao, Goa, Mahindra United cut short Sporting Clube de Goa's dream of winning the title when they beat them 3-1.
Mahindra scored through a brace by Flavio De Rodrigues (40th, 86th minutes) and substitute K Koluthungan (81st), while Sporting reduced the margin through Wilton Gomes (42nd).
Mahindra thus finsihed with 35 points to take fourth place. Sporting Clube de Goa finished second behind Dempo with 45 points.
