India [ Images ] will have no representation in the men's singles at the French Open [ Images ] after Harsh Mankad failed to qualify for the Grand Slam on Tuesday.
Mankad was unable to cross the qualification hurdle, losing his first round match to Zbynek Miynarik of Austria 3-6, 4-6.
Shikha Uberoi, representing her adopted country, the United States, also disappointed as she crashed to a first round loss in the qualifiers.
Shikha, seeded 21, was knocked out by unseeded Jarmila Gajdosova of Slovakia 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
Sania Mirza [ Images ] will feature in the main draw of the women's singles, starting on Monday, while Mahesh Bhupathi [ Images ] and Leander Paes [ Images ] would play in the men's doubles with their respective partners.
