The sixth seed Indo-Serbian duo lost to Michael Llodra and Fabrice Santoro of France, seeded eighth, 6-3, 6-2 in the last four stage.
Paes-Zimonjic had defeated third seeds Bob and Mike Bryan in the quarterfinals.
Mahesh Bhupathi and Todd Woodbridge had crashed out in the third round of the clay court event, which is a tune up to the French Open Grand Slam starting on May 23.
