Karan Rastogi beat Raven Klaasen of South Africa 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 7-6 (7-5) in a thriller to storm into the semi-finals of the US $15,000 Uzbekistan Futures Tennis Tournament on Thursday.
After winning the opening set, Rastogi lost a close second set in the tie-breaker.
The Indian endured a similar challenge in the third set that again went to the wire before he fought his way back to clinch the set and the match in another tie-breaker.
Rastogi next plays Peng Sun of China.
Rastogi also entered the doubles quarter-finals partnering Rohan Bopanna. The pair on Wednesday beat Kamil Capkovik (Slovakia) and Todor Enev (Bulgaria) 6-3, 6-2.
