Federation Cup champions Dempo Sports Club beat Sporting Clube de Goa 2-1 in a 12th round match of National Football League on Saturday to avenge the 0-4 drubbing they suffered in the first leg, in Margao, Goa, Saturday.

Dempo, who held sway throughout, scored in each half through Nigerian recruits Ranty Martins (27th minute) and Bolaji Majek (85th).

Sporting Clube, who failed to impress, came with sporadic moves and reduced the margin in injury time through Dudu Omagbemi.

Dempo have 24 points from 12 matches are on par with East Bengal but are placed second on inferior goal difference while Sporting remain in third place with 20 points from 12 matches.
