The sixth seeded pair gave a tough fight to top seeds Mark Knowles of Bahamas and Daniel Nestor of Canada before going down 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, according to information received in New Delhi.
The duo had moved into the last eight with a comfortable win against Xavier Mallise and Olivier Rochus of Belgium in the second round on Wednesday.
In other quarterfinal matches in men's doubles, Wayne Arthurs and Paul Hanley of Australia, the seventh seeds, defeated second seeded Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett of Zimbabwe, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7/5).
Third seeds Jonas Bjorkman of Sweden and Max Mirnyi of Belarus beat Gaston Etlis and Martin Rodriguez of Argentina, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
The fourth seeded American duo of Bob and Mike Bryan got the better of Yves Allegro of Switzerland and Michael Kohlmann of Germany, 6-3, 6-4.
