Top seed Rohan Bopanna was knocked out of the ONGC-ITF Masters tennis tournament losing both his singles as well as doubles matches in Dehra Dun on Tuesday.
Salifu Mohd. of Ghana caused a major upset beating Bopanna 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 to enter the quaterfinals of the tournament which is being played at the Doon School.
India's Vishal Uppal and Kamala Kannan, Peter Clarke from Ireland, Prima Simpatiaji from Indonesia and Stephen Miwel from South Africa also made it to the last-eight stage of the competition.
Second seed Clarke scored 7-6, 6-3 victory over Ravishankar Patnajali while Simpatiaji defeated Vijay Prashant 6-4, 6-4.
Miwel got the better of Ashutosh Singh and Kamla Kannan beat Gurmehar Singh 6-2, 6-1.

Two pre-quarterfinal matches were abandoned due to rains and they would now be played on Wednesday, said P K Walia, the secretary of the Uttaranchal Tennis Association.
Bopanna crashed out in doubles as well after his partner Vijay Kannan retired in the middle of the match due to illness.
When Kannan retired, the two players were trailing 6-7 in the first set.
A total of 40 players from India and abroad are participating in the tournament, which began on Monday.
